Free Buttons by Purebuttons, Too!? :D

I'll have pictures in the next week or so, so stop by and check them out then, as well as the stickers, too! :D
So, I went to a show tonight. Super cheap, $3. I got what the money was worth. My bud Bailey, and his little brother Brady, along with one of my new buds, Chase, are in the band. It turned out to be really good. Did a little bit of moshing, very little two stepping. It was good though, went to Steak n' Shake after, good fun. :]
Welllll... I'm going to close this with some things about Purebuttons.

What's a Die Cut Supposed to Look Like?

I think it's supposed to look like that... ^^ but I have NO clue... haha.
Actually, I do now... I just asked my bud over Facebook. He said about 20pt is good. So that's what I did... good thing I didn't go 40... I almost did. WHATEVS!
Anyway, hope you enjoy me new design. Pretty quick mock up, I just stuck when I was deciding what to do with it, actually, and what to put as the clipped mask in my lettering. Oh, I didn't tell you... I lost the psd to the old design... how does that happen?
Don't ask me... haha. Well, whatevs, I've been doing this all day on and off... well, since 4 or so...

Flipside Student Ministries

I gotta go to bed... otherwise I would say some more things about this but I'll just give a brief little entree.
So, my church is Flipside Student Ministries. I created this really fast today for my pastor because he's ordering shirts. So yeah, it was a quick make, kinda. But I actually enjoyed making this because of the three-dimensional lettering, it was something that I haven't done in a while.

Na'vi

Today I worked on a picture of myself that I took last night. It took me an overall time of about two hours to do the whole thing, but turned out worse than I had anticipated. If you haven't seen the movie already then you might not know what I am exactly. Which it is explained in the title, the race that I have manipulated this photo into is the Na'vi of the new hit movie Avatar.
The movie was so fantastic. I looked around on the internet to find some tutorials, but didn't really find much and I ended up just doing whatever to make it. It really was easy, besides the nose, and I wish I had put more quality into the eyes, but I'm still satisfied with the outcome.
I'd love to go more into the movie, but this is a graphics blog. :p
So, what I did for the most part was find a shade of blue that worked well on my skin and was a light color, like I would be if I were a Na'vi forreal. I didn't try and make it VERY realistic, but I got what I should have for the time I put into it. I LOVE THE GAUGE. Haha, it really is cool that they put that on the chick, so I took her ear. ;]
Anyway, that's my update for the day. I'm still trying to get a tablet, so we'll see! :D

Something Small... Fail First Day...

<--- Like I said it might be small... haha. I actually did this at 12 last night, but that still counts as today. It's hard to get things done while I'm at my dad's house. My brother is always all over me trying to bug the living crap out of me and my step-mom had me folding like 100 pounds of clothing today that they accumulated throughout the two weeks I was absent.
Anyway, I'll try to do something tonight, I have school tomorrow, so getting something done everyday will be a challenge.
In other news, I might be getting a tablet(THANK GOD FOR MY UNCLE! :D). My uncle wrote a children's book not too long ago... well a year ago, probably. Anyway, he wanted me to illustrate it for him, I told him I would, but never did because drawing would take a while. haha. So, he saw this blog come to existence last night and decided that he would be willing to give commission for my illustrations on his book. I obviously agreed, but told him instead of cash I'd like a tablet to do it with. YAYYY! Let's hope for the best.
Btw, I don't proofread. I draw, I don't write. ;p

50 Free Stickers + 25? Yeah.

So, while browsing Facebook I noticed one of my "friends", Josh, had created a new design for something. I clicked and came to find out it was a design for a sticker. I continued to ask him about it and he told me about this:
"The guys at StandOutStickers are giving away 50 *FREE* FULL COLOR Custom Die Cut Stickers to everyone who links back to them. All you need to do is post their link on your site or blog then email them @ info@standoutstickers.comPlease title the email: Free Stickers - Emptees
Include in the email: Artwork, A link to the where you linked their site at & your mailing address.
You’ll receive your free stickers in 7 - 10 business days( this will vary due to all of the orders that are going in). It’s that simple!!! Please visit their Affiliate Page to grab their text links or banner links.
Special Add ON: If you blog about them and post a photo they will give you an additional 25 Free Stickers!"
So, after seeing this I've created this blog. It has really inspired me to show my talent to others, so I'll be killing two birds with stone. I'll get these to advertise my blog.
New Horizons
After a couple of months I was tired of paint and started to draw on paper, which was something that I used to always do. I'd just doodle things and sometimes they'd look decent and sometimes you couldn't tell what the heck I was doing.
I kept the pace to a couple drawings a week, not spending too much time on each item. Though as I got older I seemed to lose interest in drawing, and with my brother making fun of me for not participating in sports and trying to get with girls I strayed away from the subject to try and better myself. Pointless, but no regrets. I'd probably be a better graphic artist, or just artist in general if I hadn't done that.
Back in about... 2005? 2006? I discovered the magnificent thing called Photoshop. It was at Photoshop CS at the time I believe, and they were about to release Photoshop CS2 in the following couple of months.
As Photoshop advanced so did my ability.Today, I'd have to say that I'm at a decent skill level and am capable of doing enough to start publishing what I make on the internet.
Saying that, I'd like to tell you my proposal. I wish to make a new graphic almost everyday, be it something small or something large. It may be a WIP showing, but it is still updating.
Enjoy my blog. :]
